OK, welcome to posting number one. I've made it across the Pacific and have arrived in Chuncheon where I'll be staying for the next five weeks for orientation. I ha! my first Korean meal in the dining halls (cabbage covered in red chili pepper, carrots and cucumber with red chili pepper, red chili pepper sauce, soup suspiciously the color of red chili pepper, and chili beef)--after the meal everyone looked totally glam with lips swollen from the spiciness.

Korea is HOT right now, and muggy, but it's really beautiful. Lots of lakes, mountains, etc. Actually, the whole place is so hilly that basically anywhere you stand has a great mountain view. I'll post picures when I figure out how...
